Ceiling Skins: Expensive look ... Inexpensive cost! Made from UV stabilized .35 mm vinyl thermoplastic, these tiles may be directly mounted on your ceiling or, if you have a grid system they may be added to create a ceiling with a "wow" factor. These tiles are easy to install, easy to clean, stain and water resistant, resource friendly and delivered direct to your door! Installing your Ceiling Skins Grid Installation Our VC ceiling tiles are specifically designed for use without existing tiles in a grid application. If you currently have tiles in your grid simply remove them and replace them with this tile. These have a 1" relief, so for partial tiles around the edges of the room we recommend using a tile without a relief. You will also need to consider the relief when installing sprinkler heads or canned lighting. Installing with a 2x4 Grid With a 2x4 grid you can add a Grid Divider to convert your 2x4 grid into a 2x2 grid. Simply drop the tile into your grid and you are done! Fire Rating The ceiling skins have been independently tested by Intertek Testing Services. They have a Class A fire rating with a flame spread index of 15 and a smoke developed index of 120. The scale is based on a noncombustible cement-asbestos board with a value of 0 and untreated lumber being 100. So these will burn significantly slower than wood but emit about 20% more smoke than wood on the parts that are burning.
